So this DOES creating a more aggressive game. Whereas if there are antes then you really do need to steal a little more often or your stack will dwindle quicker. You can wait 1-2 rounds without putting a chip in (other than blinds), not lose much of your stack and still accumulate chips when in a hand.
So you do not have to attempt to steal once per round. You do not have something invested in every hand.
In a typical cash game, you can play tight. If not, its gonna be a shove fest (ever played int he LA area casinos?).īut if everyone is deeper stacked, then I can see how one would think it is the same if you steal once a round it is the same. What it does do, is increase the size of pots, so you would hope players have deeper stacks. If you steal once per orbit, and play nothing else, your stack increased and decreased by zero, regardless if there are antes or not. Ante's in a tournament are important as it increases stack sizes, you come closer to losing your stack and blinds are gonna go up.
